Energise BV was established by Tony Allen who has 27 years experience in oil refining, trading and marketing and has held senior management positions involving M&A work and corporate strategy.
His career started with BP, working in oil trading as BP’s European Naphtha Trader and negotiating processing deals for the company. Subsequently he worked as Wholesale Marketing Manager in the UK and handled BP UK’s derivative risk management marketing and exposure management.
After 10 years with BP, he moved to Elf to run the UK Supply, Trading and Refinery Planning activity. As a Director of Elf Oil UK he was involved in the corporate planning and direction of an integrated downstream oil company. After the merger of Elf with Total he briefly worked in Paris as European Supply Coordinator before joining Petroplus in 2000. Petroplus is the leading independent European midstream oil company. Initially working in Zug, Switzerland he oversaw the aggregation of Petroplus’ various product trading operations in Europe into a central trading activity in Zug. He later moved to Petroplus’ head office in Rotterdam where as Director of Commercial Affairs and Risk Management he negotiated the divestments of some of the Group’s non core assets, input to the commercial management of the business across marketing, trading and refining and led negotiations on major, strategic supply contracts. In the development of the LNG terminalling activity of Petroplus (now under the name 4Gas), he was a Petroplus’ negotiator with BG Group and Petronas on the LNG throughput agreements at the Dragon (Milford Haven, Wales) facility. Most recently he was working on establishing a strategy and business plan for Petroplus in the fields of biofuels production and marketing where Petroplus had already established itself as the largest marketer of biodiesel in both the UK and Switzerland.
